Replacing a Waterway Executive 56

This LX pump’s mounting footprint is comparable to that of the Waterway 4 HP pump mentioned in the compatibility sheet. However, the LX wet end is smaller: the fittings on a Waterway Executive 56 do not align directly with those on the LX WUA200.

Measured vertically from the base, the LX discharge fitting is about ¾ in. lower and the suction fitting about ½ in. lower. Plumbing adjustments may therefore be necessary.

LX Pumps Manufactured Before 2015

Older LX pumps manufactured before 2015 use metric threads. LX pumps and wet ends manufactured from 2015 onward use North American threads, which are incompatible with older metric threads. When replacing an older pump, plan to replace the plumbing unions with the appropriate ones.

How to Check Compatibility

Do not choose a pump based only on the HP rating shown on the old label. Compare the 48 or 56 frame, voltage, number of speeds and high-speed amperage, as well as the fittings’ dimensions and positions. Different ways of displaying HP can make values difficult to compare; an oversized pump can damage the system.

Plumbing dimensions are nominal. As a reference, a 1 ½-inch fitting measures about 2 ⅜ inches in outside diameter, a 2-inch fitting about 3 inches, and a 2 ½-inch fitting about 3 ⅝ inches. Measure the threads on your current pump before ordering.

Rated amperage may vary slightly between pumps with comparable performance. Confirm electrical and hydraulic compatibility before installation.

Les unions ne s’alignent pas directement. Depuis la base, le refoulement LX se situe environ ¾ po plus bas et l’aspiration environ ½ po plus bas. Vérifiez la plomberie avant l’achat.
